When it comes to active reading I believe I have improved in my abilities. I have used different tactics of annotation such as using a highlighter and separately going through again with a pen. I have also used sticky notes to annotate as well. But I found the typical highlighter and pen would benefit me the most. I have noticed that I could use a little more detail when it comes to my direct annotations, but in the grand scheme of my annotations it seems to get the author’s point across. At first I struggled using a different annotation method for informative books such as in They Say I Say or Little Seagull. I’d have trouble finding what I should annotate or sticky note for each page other than the tip the author was trying to point out. In the end I have rediscovered the highlighter and pen to be my favorite type of annotation method.
