While writing my first draft I found myself struggling to piece together my ideas and incorporate the ideas of my sources. Although as I went through my writing, saw peer writing, and received writing tips in class I found myself writing the drafts fluidly. I am confident in my final draft after having it seen by my peers, and revisiting my first draft. The revision process in its entirety helped me understand what it took for good writing. By the end I understood that writing took time, and that time was put in this final draft. Back in high school I had definitely “checked the box” when it came to edits, but I feel that in this paper I took an extra step to editing my final draft as best as I could. I found myself cutting and adding entire paragraphs to my paper, instead of taking out only a couple sentences. I believe this paper properly reveals my abilities as a writer.
